Childhood Apraxia of Speech Specialty

Our Approach:

Expert Diagnosis:

Accurate diagnosis is the first step towards effective treatment. Our  team of highly skilled speech-language pathologists has extensive experience in  assessing and diagnosing CAS. We conduct thorough evaluations, including  standardized assessments and careful analysis of speech motor planning and  coordination, to confirm a diagnosis of CAS and develop a personalized treatment plan.

Individualized Therapy:

We understand that each child with CAS presents with unique strengths and nneds. Our therapy sessions are individualized to target the specific  speech motor planning and coordination difficulties characteristic of CAS. Using  evidence-based techniques such as PROMPT (Prompts for Restructuring Oral Muscular  Phonetic Targets), DTTC (Dynamic Temporal and Tactile Cueing), and motor-based  approaches, we work to improve speech intelligibility, increase phonemic accuracy, and  enhance overall communication skills.

Intensive Intervention:

Children with CAS often require intensive and frequent therapy  sessions to make meaningful progress. Our therapists are committed to providing  intensive intervention tailored to the individual needs of each child. We offer flexible  scheduling options and may recommend intensive therapy blocks or multiple sessions  per week to maximize therapeutic gains.

Parent/Caregiver Education and Involvement:

Parents and caregivers play a crucial  role in supporting their child's progress outside of therapy sessions. We provide  comprehensive education and training to help parents understand the nature of CAS,  implement recommended strategies at home, and support their child's communication  development effectively. We believe in collaborating closely with families to ensure a  holistic and consistent approach to therapy.
